1989-1993年在中国科学技术大学数学系计算数学专业学习，获理学学士学位。

1993-1998年在中国科学技术大学数学系计算数学专业学习，获理学博士学位。

1998年起留校任教，2005年起任中国科学技术大学教授，曾先后到香港科技大学，英国伯明翰大学、美国宾州州立大学担任访问学者。

2014-2015年任数学科学学院党总支书记兼副院长。

2015-2019年任数学科学学院党委书记兼副院长。

2019年3月当选中国科学技术大学党委委员，2019-2022年任党委组织部常务副部长。

2022年1月起任中国科学技术大学校长助理，2022年12月起任中国科学技术大学党委副书记。

2023年2月至2024年7月兼任中国科学技术大学党委宣传部部长。

2024年5月，邓建松当选安徽省社科联兼职副主席 。

主要从事几何造型方面的研究。博士学位论文：CAGD中分片代数曲面的研究

1998年留校工作至今，曾先后到香港科技大学的CAD/CAM中心（半年），英国伯明翰大学Alan A. Ball主持的几何建模小组（2年）访问工作。自2011年8月至2012年8月在美国宾州州立大学数学系访问一年。
